eXerK 52in52 story: The cycle was amazing – passing by a windmill, three deer, sweeping valley views and pretty villages. I was trying to add on a new leg but missed the turn so didn’t quite rack up the distance I hoped to but no problem.
Once again I struggled with running after being on the bike – am still getting used to multi-sport switchovers and my the front of my calves were in pain. I also got quite dehydrated and had an annoying headache by the evening. That was silly of me and something I can improve on easily by being smarter with taking on liquids. The run was blissfully flat following the Thames path. The water looked so tempting, I nearly turned this into a triathlon! A good learning curve and more impetus to keep going on my ankle and leg strengthening exercises.
